Barb Wild is Good Wine Gal(DipWSET, CSW, Canadian Wine Scholar)In January 2018 I shook hands with Steven Spurrier at Guildhall in London and received WSET Diploma. I had passed one of the most challenging wine courses ever. The failure rate for WSET Diploma is 70%. Needless to say, it's now time to have fun.
Creating this platform to learn, taste, share and travel wine is my fun! Will you join me? Other things about me: I love wine events; I love to taste wines blind; I work to improve my sensory skills; I love wine books; I plan on traveling to all wine regions of the world and the only thing I'm afraid of is running out of wine. |
International Travel
Traveling to wine regions of the world is a great way to make wine personal.
June 2018 it was Lisbon for the second time to explore the Lisboa CVR.
November 2019 it was Barcelona to visit Torres Family, then to Narbonne to visit Gerard Bertrand, followed by a trip to Alsace to visit Domaine Weinbach, Trimbach, Zind Humbrecht and Wolfberger. Amazing Alsace!
February 2020 it was Budapest touring Villany, Tokaji and Eger. I also tripped over to Bratislava where I found my roots and tasted 75 Slovakian wines in 90 minutes. A quick stop in Vienna and a tasting of new and note worthy producers.
