"Amen Bro! It’s Red Burgundy” pays tribute to the regions history where many of the vineyards were planted and the wines were kept by Cistercians monks, and convent sisters. Get the answers to all your Burgundy questions and more with Mark Shipway during our online wine session. Session

Thursday April 29th at 4:30 pm or 7:30 pm (PST) on Zoom its “Amen Bro! It’s Red Burgundy.” Join Good Wine Gal, Barb Wild and Vancouver's top wine educator, Mark Shipway to learn how to find good wine and value in the hills and crus of Burgundy. Each session lasts approximately 1.5 hours. A recommended list of wine and cheeses is provided.

 

Outline

In this online zoom session, Mark leads us through a comprehensive educational presentation. Hear the ‘what and why’ of style, quality, taste and above all, how to find value. The presentation is followed by an interactive tasting component where we discuss the wine in our glass.

Here are some recommendations for our journey to Burgundy. I can honestly say this is a region that confuses and is expensive. To have a great experience I do recommend something like AF Gros (she's a great winemaker). I also understand that it's a bit pricey. These wines definitely need to be decanted and enjoyed with food to get the most out of your experience. My I recommend that you prepare Beef Bourguignon.
