Cab Sauvant - Is Cab Still King?
Jan 14 2021
“Seven Nights of International Grapes & Wine with Mark Shipway” continues Thursday, January 14th at 7:30 pm on Zoom with Cab Sauvant – Is Cab still King? Cabernet Sauvignon recently became the world’s most planted grape of any colour and is still growing! From the old world wisdom of Bordeaux and Bolgheri to the new world styling of California and the Cape, Cabernet Sauvignon has captured the imagination of red winemakers and red wine drinkers wherever they may be. Let's talk and taste Cabernet Sauvignon. Bring up a bottle, invite a friend, grab a glass, order some cheese and get ready to travel the world of Cab!
In this session we will look at those classic old (& new world) benchmarks and discover the ‘what and the why’ of their quality, taste and above all, price. Along the way we will take a quick dive into oceanic influenced Australia the take a hike high into the Andes of Argentina and Chile – all countries perhaps more famous for other red wine grapes but offer huge potential for any budding Cabernet Sauvant. We will end by also asking the question, ‘is BC really the place to be for Cabernet Sauvignon?’ We’ll also discover some great value for your pocket book and your cellar.
Thursday evening sessions start at 7:30 pm on Zoom. Each session has a learning component and interactive tasting conversation lasting approximately 1.5 hours. You will receive a zoom link a couple of hours before the session starts.
