Meet Lyndsay O'Rourke from Tightrope WineryMeet Naramata Bench winemaker, Lyndsay O'Rourke and hear about her journey to wine. After a hospitality career in Whistler she headed with her husband Graham to New Zealand to study at Lincoln University where she found her science and agricultural undergrad degree came in very handy. Lyndsay is an award winning winemaker and working with her viticulturist husband, the team at Tightrope is making world class wine. Taste Tightrope WinesDuring our call we tasted Tightrope Rielsing and Pinot Noir. I've been sipping Syrah and the Sauvignon Blanc - Semillon blend for years so it was with fresh appreciation that I sipped these styles with Lyndsay. Naramata Bench terroir is unique with long sunshine hours in the summer and silty soil which shows up as a salty mineral note. The Riesling was super dry and racy which would be a great pairing for cheese fondue. The single vineyard Pinot Noir was delicious. We actually tasted the 2022 Pinot Noir which is ripe and aromatic from the vineyard where the winery is located. A touch of new French oak which gives a nice texture that suits grilled beef or stew. The image above was taken at the Insights Conference in Penticton mid March where I tasted the previous vintage. Visit Tightrope WineryTightrope Winery is located in the heart of Naramata Bench along Naramata Road which winds its way from Penticton to the village of Naramata.
