Barb Wild, DipWSET, CSW, Canadian Wine Scholar
Good Wine Gal is a sensory storytelling platform founded by Barb Wild, DipWSET, CSW. Through blind tasting experiences, conversations, and place-based stories, Barb explores the people who make wine, the land that sustains it, and how perception shapes our understanding of quality and value — particularly in BC and other emerging wine regions.
Thank you for being a curious wine lover! My motto: Life is short. Drink good wine. Cheers to "good wine".

I fell in love with wine in 2009 during my extended career in specialty food and product commercialization in the grocery channel. In 2011, I completed the Award of Excellence in Sustainability Management at UBC (Continuing Studies) followed up with WSET Level 2 & 3 completing Level 3 in 2012. I thought this was a great combination as we looked to increasing climate issues and workplace diversity.
My first wine job was in 2014 as a retail sales associate at Liberty Wine Merchants at Park Royal. In 2017, I moved to Legacy Liquor Store in the Olympic Village as the BC Wine Buyer and Assistant Wine Manager, all the while studying and learning about this incredibly challenging and vast subject called "wine". In January 2018, I shook hands with Steven Spurrier at Guildhall in London where I received the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) Diploma after passing one of the most challenging wine courses in the world. What an honour. Needless to say, the learning doesn't stop. Now I dedicate most of my time to writing, travelling and hosting blind tasting events like the BC Wine Tasting Challenge (TM).
